01Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Kookar (“the app”, “the service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
02Eligibility
You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (at least 18 years in India) and not barred from using the service under applicable law. By using Kookar you represent that you meet these requirements.
03Your account
- You sign in using a one-time password sent to your phone or email. You are responsible for keeping access to that number/email secure.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your associated personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
04The service
Kookar helps you plan meals, coordinate with cooks, order groceries, and manage related payments. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
05Payments
- Payments (including UPI) are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay, subject to their terms. We do not store full payment credentials.
- Prices, charges, and any applicable taxes are shown before you confirm a purchase.
- Refunds, cancellations, and disputes are handled in accordance with the applicable order terms and Razorpay’s processes, and subject to law.
06Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the app except as permitted by law.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes others’ rights.
07Third-party services
The app relies on third-party providers (for example, Supabase, Razorpay, Google, and PostHog) to function. Your use of those features may also be subject to the providers’ own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
08Intellectual property
The app, its content, and its branding are owned by Kookar or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these terms.
09Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kookar and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that may cause harm or legal liability. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
